Project description
Spinal cord injuries (SCI) affect hundreds of thousands of people every year and there is no cure. RECONNECT proposes a disruptive solution: spinal implants that restore neural connection and lost motor and sensory functions, radically improving the quality of life of people affected by SCI. The technology is based on advanced materials developed to integrate with nerve tissue and enable functional reconnection of the spinal cord. Its competitive advantage lies in its acellular, biocompatible, definitive and clinically feasible approach, which overcomes the ethical and technical limitations of other therapies in development, with a high potential for scalability and clinical adoption.
