BEGI: on-chip 3D vision processor with back-end AI systems to enable neuromorphic DVS sensors
Project fact sheet
Vertical: Smart Industry
Project description
BEGI addresses the need for reliable and efficient real-time 3D perception guaranteed for dynamic and unstructured environments, where current solutions (LiDAR, ToF) are costly, with high latency and high energy consumption. Its value proposition is a digital processor that, together with DVS sensors and micro-lenses, extracts 3D information passively with low power consumption and minimal and determined latency. The technology is based on DVS visual events processed by optimised algorithms that generate depth and optical flow maps. Its competitive advantage lies in its passive capability, low power consumption, scalability and adaptability to multiple sectors, with patents pending and validation in FPGA. In later stages it will be industrialised as an ASIC (Application-Specific Integrated Circuit)
