BEINT 2026 Internationalisation Grants

Up to 2 years of traineeships abroad and internationalisation training, so you can return as an international trade professional

The BEINT Internationalisation Grant Programme aims to train young university degree holders in internationalisation through a mixed programme of university training and practical experience abroad in collaboration with internationalised Basque institutions and companies.

If you want to give your career a boost, take the opportunity to acquire knowledge and skills that will enable you to enter new international markets. In this way, you will contribute, with your expertise, to strengthening the Basque business community.

The BEINT programme is offered in two modes:

A Mode, for a total duration of 2 years divided into 3 phases.
B Mode, for an approximate total duration of 1 year, combining Phase 1 Training and Phase 3 Traineeship Abroad

It is aimed at young people from the Basque Country under the age of 30 who hold a higher university degree. Participants will receive funding of between €30,000 and €80,000 per person, depending on the cost of living at their international destination if they choose A Mode, and between €12,000 and €32,000 under B Mode.

Modes A+B

Traineeships

Professional traineeships in internationalised companies or other multilateral institutions.

Duration: 8 meses

Who it is for

For graduate students

Do you want to train in international trade and gain professional experience?

If you are under 30 years old, hold a university degree, live in the Basque Country and are fluent in English, BEINT is for you.

You must be a European Union citizen.
Have resided in the Basque Country for at least 12 months before the application deadline, or for 5 continuous years in the last 10 years.
Hold a university degree obtained (and accredited) before 31 May 2026.
If you obtained your degree abroad, official recognition or equivalence must be proven.

For companies

We are looking for internationalised companies in need of young talents.

01_ Acceptance of applications

All applicants who meet the requirements and have completed the application within the established deadline will be accepted as candidates and invited to sit the tests.

Main requirements:

Be a citizen of a EU Member State.
Have resided in the Basque Country for at least 12 months before the application deadline, or for 5 continuous years in the last 10 years.
University qualification obtained and accredited before 31 May 2026.
Be under 30 years of age as of 1 January 2026.
English B2 minimum (oral and written test).
Proof of at least a B2 level of Spanish is required (this will be assessed during the interview, and official certification may be requested if the level is not adequately demonstrated).
Not to have been a beneficiary of BEINT or other similar grants for traineeships abroad of 6 months or more.
Not to suffer from any illness or be affected by a physical or psychological limitation that would prevent normal use of the grant, or by conditions that limit activities of daily living at the time of submitting the application.

02_ Assessment tests

Candidates must sit the following tests in person, on the date and at the place indicated in the call for applications:

Knowledge test on socio-economic and general issues.
Oral and written English test, eliminatory if at least a B2 level is not demonstrated.
Oral and written test of a second foreign language from among the following: Arabic, Chinese Mandarin, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Korean, Japanese and Mandarin Chinese.
Oral and written Basque test.

They must have at least one commercial or productive establishment abroad.

01_ Check all the requirements to become a BEINT partner

Companies, institutions, business associations and clusters willing to receive BEINT trainees are required to meet with the following requirements:

Be an internationalised organisation that offers practical training in international trade and internationalisation, with a purely business content; have at least one commercial or productive establishment abroad, where the trainee can be personally accompanied by the organisation’s personnel.
Have an activity and training plan for the trainee, covering the entire traineeship period.
Have a tutor who will be responsible for the training of the BEINT trainee.
Be willing to pay for the Trainee's return ticket to the country of destination.
Ensure and facilitate BEINT trainees to fulfilment visa requirements (for countries requiring entry-exit visas).
Pay operating expenses such as computer equipment, office supplies and travel allowances for the BENT Trainee.
Inform Basque Trade & Investment and/or SPRI's Internationalisation Department of the progress and evaluation of the BEINT Trainee.
The BEINT grant holder must not have previously worked or carried out an traineeship in the same company or institution.
