Artificial intelligence that consists of three elements: 1) It must be lawful, that is, comply with all applicable laws and regulations; 2) It must be ethical, demonstrating respect and ensuring compliance with ethical principles and values; and 3) It must be robust, both from a technical and social point of view, since AI systems, even if well-intentioned, can inadvertently cause harm. The reliability of AI concerns not only the reliability of the artificial intelligence system itself but also that of all processes and agents involved in the system's life cycle.
