The Basque Country, a marine energy reference in projects such as Bimep

The 2030 Basque Energy Strategy, approved by the Basque Government in July 2016, is committed to offshore wind power as a business niche for companies in the Basque Country.

The Basque Country has become positioned as a world leader in marine energy projects, such as the Wavegen oscillating water column wave energy plant in Mutriku, which has been in operation for five years, and the Bimep wave energy converter tester platform, located in Lemoiz.
