Bombardier Transportation will manufacture part of a French order it has won, for 32 double-deck trainsets for regional services, at its Trapagaran plant, the Canadian multinational has reported. More specifically, the Biscay plant will manufacture the propulsion equipment for the trains, which Bombardier will start delivering to French rail operator SNCF in 2020.
With this order, there will be a total of 240 regional trains based on the OMNEO platform with propulsion units manufactured in Trapagaran. One of the latest orders, for 88 trainsets, also for France, was awarded last year.
