In April next year Bilbao will host Marine Energy Week, an event made up of symposia, seminars and other activities concerning the sea, energy and the latest technological advances, focusing primarily on marine renewable energy.
Marine Energy Week, organised by the Basque Energy Board (Ente Vasco de la Energía), Tecnalia and Bilbao Exhibition Centre, will be linked to the Sinaval Eurofishing exhibition, which is due to run between 20 and 24 April next year.
The event, comprising both a conference and an exhibition, will bring together the global marine renewable energy industry, for a week, at the most important event for the sector in southern Europe.
International experts and leaders of the world’s most advanced projects in the field of marine renewable energies will focus discussion on offshore wind power and the harnessing of wave, tidal and ocean current energy.
The programme includes a day dedicated to offshore wind power, a consolidated technology facing challenges such as access to deeper water through floating technologies, expansion of the production capacity of wind turbines, as well as logistical and maintenance work in the marine environment.
