Small and medium-sized Basque enterprises have presented 40 innovative projects with an international dimension to the European SME-H2020 programme, of which six have been approved, i.e. have obtained at least 13 of 15 possible points, according to the specialised consultancy Bantec.
By Historical Territories, 20 projects were presented by SMEs in Gipuzkoa (4 approved), 15 in Bizkaia (1 approved) and 5 in Alava (1 approved).
According to data that Bantec has had access to, small and medium-sized Spanish companies had submitted 419 innovation projects with an international dimension on the first intermediate deadline, just behind the Italians, with 436 projects, and well ahead of the 232 United Kingdom companies, the 188 Germans and the 167 French SMEs.
Instrument SME has approved 317 of the 2,662 projects presented, representing 11.90% of all projects, and granted financial support to 155, which is 5.82% of the total.
By Spanish Autonomous Communities, Catalonia was the leader, both in projects presented, 97, and those approved, 19, followed by the Community of Madrid, with 91 projects presented and 15 approved.
