ICT 2015 is to be held in Lisbon in October, an event organised by the Digital Agenda for Europe, at which the major advances in R&I linked to ICT and future European policy strategies in this field will be displayed. A call for proposals has been launched to select 40 students, young researchers and innovators interested in attending the event.

The European Commission, through the Digital Agenda, wants to invite a team of young researchers, students and innovators interested in the ICT world to take part in the forthcoming ICT 2015, which will take place from 20 to 22 October in Lisbon. The call will give 40 people aged under 30 the chance to attend lectures, presentations and discussions at the event, as well as to actively participate in some of the sessions as representatives of the new generations of Europeans. The invitation includes travel and stay during the days of the event, and registrations will end on 31 May.

The call is open to young people from any EU Member State who have at least a secondary education certification in the case of the young innovators, or who are taking part in academic projects at a university or a research institute based in the European Union. Motivation and interest in digital technologies will be one of the major factors determining selection, since the intention is to create a team of young people with different profiles, who can provide a more diverse view as regards ICT.

During the event, they will have access to exchange and mentoring meetings with researchers, political representatives and entrepreneurs. They must also take charge of performing different tasks, such as interviewing participants at the event, communicating the contents of lectures over the Internet and social networks or taking part in discussion sessions representing the interests of new generations of researchers and innovators.
