Six Basque companies in sectors such as consultancy, projects and maintenance in the field of information and communication technologies (ICT) have created a platform called GAIA Trade Factory in order to bid for international tenders launched by European and multilateral organisations in the field of systems development and integration.

The project is being promoted by the Basque Country Electronics, Computer Science and Telecommunications Cluster (GAIA-Cluster TEIC) with the support of the Basque Government (SPRI) and the participating companies Bilbomática, Entelgy Ibai, GFI Norte, Ibermática, Near Technologies and Odei.

The new initiative originates in the vocation for collaboration of the six companies that have made a commitment to work together and share resources, in order to make a joint approach to international markets “while at the same time helping to improve their competitiveness and increase their international business volume”, as these companies have stated.

The companies behind this initiative forecast overall turnover of 20 million euros in 2019, representing 1.8% of total tenders in the field of systems, estimated at 1.1 billion euros per year; tenders promoted by European institutions and by multilateral agencies alike.
