The BiscayTIK Foundation has called the Start BiscayApp awards, a contest aimed at promoting the development of applications both for mobile and web devices. The awards will be judged in 5 different categories and entries are now open to propose and vote for projects.
The Start BiscayApp awards are aimed at any person, company or organisation that has developed a mobile or web software programme linked to any of the five contest categories: leisure, commerce, administration, productivity, education and innovation. The purpose of the contest, organised by the BiscayTIK Foundation, is to promote the creation of applications in the environment of Bizkaia, Biscay, although it is also open to developers in other territories.
Registration is open until the end of November and participation in the contest is also possible by voting for the best apps in each category via Facebook. The 10 applications that receive most votes in each section will be evaluated by a panel of experts, who will choose 3 finalists in each category. In the final phase, the best apps projects will be defended in person at an event where the winners will be decided.
Awards have been foreseen for each section in the contest, as well as a special prize for the best app of the year in Bizkaia. The awards include advertising on relevant blogs, PR campaigns for the app, including a video and a viral campaign, audits by specialised companies, a physical space for the start-up at the Bake Eder Knowledge Centre and computer equipment.
BiscayTIK is a non-profit public foundation created by the Regional Government of Bizkaia to promote the use of ICTs in municipal administration and new technologies among citizens.
