Out of all its production plants, the French multinational Onduline has chosen the one in Gallarta to produce a new, innovative product it has developed. To achieve this it has invested two million euros in the plant and awarded it exclusive production of new asphalt sheets.
The Gallarta factory, with around 80 employees, will return to working at full production capacity after two hard years, in which it has had to cope with two staff redundancy processes and has seen its continuity threatened by the crisis harshly affecting the construction sector. With this production it will supply not only traditional Iberian Peninsula markets (Spain and Portugal) but also 90% of its sales will come from other countries. At the moment there are already orders from the United States, Belarus, Chad, Thailand and Indonesia.
Onduline invested 13 million euros in the start-up of its Gallarta plant, which opened fourteen years ago. The factory facilities, located in the El Campillo Industrial Estate, occupy a surface area of 33,000 m2.
