Ikusi and Samsung sign strategic alliance to develop airport information display solutions

Tuesday, April 1st, 2014

Ikusi and Samsung have joined forces to develop total information display solutions for airports. Ikusi is responsible for developing new functionality and has modified its airport information solution software, known as dolphin, to make it compatible with the new smart controller technology integrated into the Samsung Smart Signage Platform (SSSP) monitors that will soon be operating in airports around the world.

The transformations developed by Ikusi mean that the Samsung information platform does not need an external PC to operate or to update information. These changes provide numerous advantages to airport managers, since they reduce costs while at the same time facilitating installation and maintenance tasks.

In the words of Jeong-hwan Kim, Senior Vice President of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics “We look forward to working with many IT resellers, including Ikusi, to develop innovative solutions that reduce total cost of ownership and provide the most effective solutions based on the Samsung Smart Signage Platform.”

The airport sector is a promising business opportunity for the Samsung commercial display division. With the Samsung Smart Signage Platform and the Ikusi solution, the strategic partnership between both companies will make it possible to supply a much cheaper FIDS (Flight Information Display Systems) solution to the airports market.
