Led by Ibermática, the E-Bizi Project brings together Basque technology centres, companies and entities linked to social and health care to develop a new homecare service. The system is based on a technology platform and the figure of an interlocutor who will centralise services.
With the aim of responding to the challenge of ageing and turn this demographic trend into an opportunity to generate new services and products, the Ibermática i3B Innovation Institute is leading the E-Bizi project, an initiative intended to develop a new model of home care.
E-Bizi consists of developing a technology platform and the figure of an interlocutor who connects the end user with the care service providers. In this way, use of the system is simplified and becomes closer and more customised, because users only have to contact a single interlocutor to have their different requirements met.
The intention is for the E-Bizi project to be operating by late 2015, and it will be tested with a set of services that include advanced telecare, diet provision, access to online banking, housing adaptation and domiciliary rehabilitation. Even so, the system will be open to alterations and to integration of more services in the future.
Taking part in the project are Ausolan, Euskaltel, Gaia, Ikusi, Igurco Gestión, Matia Fundazioa, Policlínica Gipuzkoa and Salud Innova, as well as the Fundación Tecnalia research centres, Mondragon Goi Eskola Politeknikoa, UPV/EHU, Ikerlan-IK4 and Fundación Ingema. E-Bizi has emerged with the intention of fostering the creation of new personalised gerontological services, with a view to the Basque business and healthcare sector becoming positioned as a benchmark in this field both nationally and internationally.
