Sprilur starts construction of the new Winoa Ibérica plant in Balmaseda

20 June, 2016

Building work, with allocated investment of 3.45 million euros, is scheduled to be completed by June 2017.

The publicly-owned company Sprilur, part of the SPRI Group (the Basque business development agency), has started construction work on the new Winoa Group plant in Balmaseda (Bizkaia).

The intended goal of transferring the plant and prior public-private collaboration agreements is the expansion of an interesting industrial project and a key economic indicator for the development of the Encartaciones region.

Previously, in June 2012, in order to encourage this industry to remain in Biscay/Bizkaia, Balmaseda Town Council, the Regional Government of Bizkaia, the Basque Government and Winoa Ibérica agreed to transfer its facilities to the outskirts of this municipality and locate the new plant on plot 1, sector UA.1, of the Arla industrial estate.
