The French multinational Bricomart, belonging to the Adeo group, like Leroy Merlin, has chosen some private land in the municipality of Sestao, located between Carrefour and the rear of Choymo and Lidl, to open its 16th store in Spain, but the first in the Basque Country, where 15 million euros will initially be invested for the opening of the new store. The premises will be erected where the ruins of the historic Babcock Wilcox factory stood, in the Basque town with the highest unemployment rate (23.2%).
The company intends to open the store in June and expects to have another facility in Galdakao in 2018 and continue its expansion in the Basque Country, installing at least one store in each of the historical territories.
The new store, dedicated to the sale of DIY and construction products and materials, seeks its main market niche among construction and alteration professionals, but also aims to serve individuals and handymen.
