Gipuzkoa-based company Atecnin, specialising in the design and construction of machinery to process steel coils and strip, is starting to expand its market towards the aluminium sector.
The firm seeks to enter this segment because it is a market that is experiencing an increase in demand, driven by the automotive and aeronautical sectors.
In addition to aluminium, Atecnin is designing new processing lines for stainless steel, a less malleable material that requires sturdier machinery.
The automotive sector is currently the most important for the Gipuzkoan firm’s business, followed by domestic appliances and aeronautics.
The company has a strong international presence. Atecnin exports 70% of its production, mostly to the South American market. Emerging countries are requesting mechanically rebuilt machinery, with the application of modern technology.
